When I met mr shar we spoke about options and he was honest with me about where we went with my knee. I felt that I was in safe hands and he was very confident. After opp I was looked after very well and three months down line I can sleep without pain and walk without limping. I had a partial knee replacement and it’s brilliant no pain at all big thank you

I went back to Mr Shah for a hip replacement operation, despite no longer living in South London, because he had done such a good job on the first hip op 7 years ago. Due to Covid, I had to wait a year during which time my hip deteriorated. But a 'window' appeared last autumn, thanks to the Guy's Orthopaedic/Admissions team led by Simon ? at Guy's and I had my operation on December 8/9, 2020. All my dealings with the teams at Guy's have been very positive. Suggestions for improvements? Nothing as far as the clinical side. But the bureaucracy/admin - particularly answering the phone, desperately needs additional resources....

When I first saw Mr Shah I had constant severe pain in my hip, knee and lower back and I had no respite from the pain even when sitting and lying in bed. I was doubled over in pain and could only move a few steps without using a wheelchair. I was told that I required a complex total hip replacement requiring a synthetic bone graft. The day following surgery I immediately noticed the lack of pain. When getting out of bed for the first time my new hip did ache slightly but the severe pain had disappeared. I could walk, sit and lye on the bed and relax for the first time in ages. I did all the exercises I was given and now, 6 weeks after surgery I can more or less move around normally but have been told to be careful of falls. The follow up appointments have been informative and Mr Shah listens to and explains thoroughly any questions at the same time not rushing you out of the door after a few minutes. This operation has given me my life back and has made such a difference to the quality of life I share with my husband and family. I cannot thank Mr Shah enough and would 100% recommend him to anyone requiring this type of surgery.

I am very grateful to Mr Shah. He performed a total hip replacement between lockdowns after I had become wheelchair bound for four months. He instantly puts you at ease and listens to your concerns . My post operative care has also been excellent. I had other complications and Mr.Shah willingly referred me on to another department. A big thank you!
